I’ve been terrifying relatives, teachers, and anyone who would listen with my stories since I was a kid (and no, I didn’t really mean to traumatize anyone—Disney just set a high bar for tragic backstories!). I’ve always been obsessed with stories that leave scars, that make you question everything you thought you knew about right and wrong, and that show how our choices shape who we become. My stories are about the beauty in brokenness, the strength it takes to piece yourself back together, and why being overlooked can make you unstoppable.
I’m also the founder and co-host of The Mythic Mic Podcast, where myths come alive and I get to geek out with authors about the worlds, magic, and romances we all secretly (or not so secretly?) obsess over. The “daytime” version of me is a women’s health lawyer and author of the non-fiction book The Femtech Revolution: Harnessing Technology to Supercharge Women’s Healthcare, which explores how women can stay safe while using digital health technology. When I’m not reading or writing, or talking about reading and writing, you’ll find me chasing real-life adventures: photographing polar bears in Manitoba, going on African safaris, or exploring remote corners of the world that feel almost magical. I also collect sprayed-edge books with the intensity of a dragon hoarding treasure. Seriously, I think my spirit animal is Smaug from The Hobbit.
